Resources for Student Workers

You can find schedules, job assignments, and other information here.

Rules and Expectations

  1. Make customer service your first priority.
  2. Answer patron questions to the best of your ability.  If you are unsure of an answer, DO NOT HESITATE to call a professional staff member.
  3. A Library Student Ambassador nametag will be provided, and should be worn during your shifts.  Nametags are stored on the bulletin board behind the Library Service Desk.  Please tell your supervisor what name you prefer.
  4. Dress: torn/soiled clothing and revealing articles of clothing are discouraged.  In most cases, if you would wear it to class, you can wear it to work.  However, clothing with overt political statements/endorsements of candidates or policies from any party should not be worn at the desk.  This includes shirts, hats, and other accessories.
  5. Please avoid eating meals or messy snacks at the Library Service Desk.  (Covered beverages are allowed.)
  6. If a friend comes up to chat, talk briefly and remind them that you are working.  At no time should friends be in the work area, or distracting you from your duties.
  7. Evaluations will be done at least once each academic year.
