About the Library

Mission

The Cecil C. Tyrell Library serves SUNY Broome Community College students and staff as well as the community at large by providing instruction and access to timely and responsive services, programs, and tools that facilitate diverse, inclusive educational experiences and lifelong learning.

Loan Periods

Circulating Books - 16 week loan
Magazines & Periodicals (Print) - Library use only
CDs and DVDs - 30 days
Laptops - 1 week loan - see your Student Success Coach to get a loan referral.
Reserve Materials - 2 hours, library use only

Overdue notices are sent to college email addresses as a courtesy.  Failure to return borrowed materials promptly upon notice will result in a charge for overdue materials being sent to Student Accounts for collection processing.

Archives and Special Collections

The College Archives and Special Collections are also included under the umbrella of library services, and their seamless integration into the library’s online presence. Special Collections include the Ed Aswad Photography Collection, the SUNY Broome Community College Art Collection, the SUNY Digital Repository, and the SUNY Open Access Repository.
