Citing Statista

Statista is a statistics portal provided through the library. The statistics come in several forms, such as charts & graphs, surveys, infographics, dossiers and reports. Some forms come with citation generators, and some require manual citation.
Charts
Charts may have a citation tool embedded in the page.
Dossiers & Reports
Dossiers and reports compile several charts and graphs to give an overview of data on a topic. You may need to cite these manually.
APA citation general format:
Author. (Date). Title of document. Site name. URL

  • The author(s) may be listed in the document. Authors should be listed by last name and initial(s). If authors are not listed, cite the author as Statista. In cases like this, where a document is produced by a company, we assume the organization is the author if individual authors are not identified.
  • The date may be visible in the document, or a release date may be found on the download page. If no date is shown, list the date as (n.d.).
  • The title should be apparent. In the citation, the title should be formatted in italics and written in sentence case, with only the first word and proper nouns capitalized.
  • The site name is Statista.
  • The URL can be highlighted in the navigation bar, copied and pasted in your citation.
