How to Link to Library Resources

Why should I embed videos in my course?

We probably don't need to extol the virtues of videos in learning! These videos are legally licensed - meaning you don't have to worry about a video disappearing because of a copyright complaint (like you might on YouTube).

Selected video databases

Other video sources are available including Kanopy and Docuseek but they are not subscription databases.  Contact our Electronic Resources librarian to request a film you can't find in Academic Video Online.  Available films already licensed through Kanopy or Docuseek can be found here

How can I find the link for a video?

While you can embed videos from both of these databases into Brightspace, we recommend that you link to the videos instead. That way your students can take advantage of the accessibility features provided by those databases.

Navigate to the video of your choice on the Academic Video Online platform and click on the video.

Once you have been sent the link to the Kanopy video you requested or have found it on the Available Kanopy Films page

  1. Click Share below the video description

How do I add these video links to Brightspace?
